This is usually one of the first numbers a developer needs before even approaching a landowner or a lender, so it deserves a straight answer up front: a groundmount solar plant in India typically needs approximately 4–5 acres per MW for a fixedtilt structure, and around 5–6 acres per MW if singleaxis trackers are used, due to the wider row spacing trackers require to avoid selfshading.
